Help test Fieldwork before it launches
Fieldwork is a study app for the NASM Certified Personal Trainer exam. It is finished and it needs twelve people to use it for two weeks before Google will let it go public.
If you are studying for the CPT, you get the full app free for taking part.
Who this is for
People actually preparing for the NASM-CPT — ideally with an exam date booked, or planning to sit it in the next few months. You do not need to be far into your study. Someone starting from scratch is as useful to test with as someone revising.
You need an Android phone and the Google account you use on it.
What taking part involves
- Install the app from the link below and keep it installed for 14 days.
- Do the daily session most days. It is one session a day, sized to the time
you pick — 10, 20 or 30 minutes — and it ends when it ends. There is no feed.
- Tell me what is wrong with it. Confusing wording, a question you think is
incorrect, anything that annoyed you.
That is the whole commitment. Fourteen days, one short session a day, and your honest opinion.
Please stay opted in for the full 14 days. Google requires twelve testers opted in continuously; if someone drops out partway the count resets for everybody, and the two weeks starts again.
What you get
- The complete app — all 149 concepts, all six exam domains, the full-length
mock exams — free, for good, for taking part.
- No payment card, no account, no sign-in, no email address required by the
app itself.
What the app does
One session a day, built from three things: mistakes you got wrong while feeling confident, material scheduled to come back today, and the next concept you have not met. You recall each key rule from memory with the reading closed, and you rate your confidence *before* you see whether you were right — answers you were sure about and got wrong go to the front of the queue, because those are the ones ordinary studying leaves in place.
It works offline. Your study data stays on your device and is never uploaded.
Join — three steps, in this order
Google lets a tester join themselves, but only through a group, so there is one extra step before the app. It takes about a minute in total.
Step 1. Join the testers group: https://groups.google.com/g/fieldwork-cpt-testers
Step 2. Accept the test invitation: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.ptstudy.pt_study
Step 3. Install from Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ptstudy.pt_study
Use the same Google account for all three, and make it the account your phone uses for the Play Store. The order matters: until you are in the group and have accepted, Play does not consider you a tester, and the store link will say the app is unavailable. That is not a broken link — it means step 1 or 2 has not gone through yet.
Steps 2 and 3 can be done on the phone itself. If step 1 will not let you in, email me and I will add you by hand.
Honest notes
This is exam-preparation material written from openly licensed and public-domain sources, and every work it draws on is listed inside the app under Sources and licences. It is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NASM, and it does not predict or guarantee that you will pass anything.
